Withers Recruits From Rival For Contentious Trusts, Succession Team

International law firm [tag|withers|]Withers[/tag] has appointed Steven Kempster to its contentious trusts and succession group.

International law firm Withers has appointed  Steven Kempster to its contentious trusts and succession group. Kempster joins as a partner from Taylor Wessing, where he was head of the firm’s contentious trusts and estates team.

Kempster, based in London, is not directly replacing someone but his role is not a new position.

CTSG partner Sue Medder is leaving the firm soon to take up a new role, but Kempster is not taking on her responsibilities in the team, a spokesperson told this publication.

Recent highlights of his cases in the public domain include: acting in the first instance and Court of Appeal case of Slutsker v Haron (2013) and representing beneficiaries in hostile Bermuda proceedings in Re A Trust (2012).

Kempster is an editor of the Oxford University Press publication International Trust Disputes, first published in 2011, and he lectures frequently in all regions of the world on the successful resolution of family trust disputes.
