The international law firm has brought in a lawyer with experience of the CIS region and in handling high net worth clients on their investment activities.

Withers, the international law firm, has hired corporate lawyer Oleg Shvander as a partner in its London office, joining from Clyde & Co. He previously also worked at Coudert Brothers in Kazakhstan.

Shvander's practice involves mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and other forms of investing in emerging markets, and in particular in the CIS region.  Many of his clients are high net worth individuals in the CIS, whom he advises on their investment activities around the world, as well as representing a number of fund and corporate clients, Withers said in a statement.  

Oleg's work with private capital investments out of and into the CIS region will also add further strengths to the capabilities of our Russia and CIS group, which offers a comprehensive range of legal services to clients from the area,” Chris Priestley, head of the firm’s European Commercial team, said.
