The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.
UBS
UBS Global Wealth Management, part of UBS, has appointed Stephanie
Khalef-Wassmer as a client advisor in London. She will
be taking up her role later in August.
Khalef-Wassmer will join the global family and institutional
wealth team reporting to head GFIW UK, François-Olivier
Mercier.
Prior to joining UBS, Khalef-Wassmer was a senior investment
advisor at JP Morgan Private Bank in London, after joining the
firm in 2010 as an analyst in Geneva. She has more than 15 years
of experience advising ultra-high net worth clients and family
offices on their investment strategies.
Khalef-Wassmer has a BSc in management from HEC Lausanne, the
Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne
in Switzerland, as well as a BSc in business administration –
management from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. She
speaks four languages, French, English, German and
Italian.
During her time at JP Morgan, she co-chaired the Private Bank
Women & Wealth Strategy for the UK. She was also part of the
Women on the Move Group for EMEA.
Outside of work, Khalef-Wassmer is a golfer, and plays at the
Swiss Junior Championship level.
Alter Domus
Luxembourg-headquartered Alter Domus, a provider
of tech-enabled fund services for the private equity, real assets
and private debt sectors, has appointed Isabel Gomez Vidal as
chief commercial officer, based in New York. She will also
join the group executive board.
Her appointment comes after the firm appointed CEO Charlotte Hogg; the firm intends to invest in senior leadership to drive its next phase of growth and cement its role as a prominent service partner to alternative asset managers, the firm said in a statement. Gomez Vidal will work with Hogg and the wider executive team.
Gomez Vidal previously served as chief revenue officer at Dun & Bradstreet. Among her accomplishments, she was involved in the agreement from Clearlake to buy D&B. She has more than two decades of experience leading global commercial and product teams across the financial information and technology sectors.
Before her time at D&B, Gomez Vidal spent more than 16 years at Moody’s Analytics, part of Moody’s Corporation, serving as chief revenue officer from 2007 to 2023.
She is an advocate for technology and AI, and a member of the American Society of AI in New York. She serves on the advisory boards of both the non-profit Posse Foundation and Quantum Metrics, a US-based digital analytics firm.
Barnett Waddingham
UK-based Barnett
Waddingham (BW), a professional services consultancy, has
appointed Nick Cooper as CEO of BW SIPP.
Cooper (pictured) has more than three decades of experience in the SIPP and master trust markets, including international experience. Over the past year, he has played a pivotal role in the transformation of BW SIPP as head of SIPP Proposition, the firm said in a statement.
His appointment follows a planned leadership transition from Simon Foster, ahead of his retirement later this year.
During his time at BW, Cooper has been closely involved in its business transformation, such as developing the new SIPP360 platform – a cloud-based SIPP administration solution.
Prior to joining BW, Cooper held senior positions at firms including Aviva, Zurich and Clerical Medical, developing retirement propositions and managing strategic partnerships. He was also involved in developing Embark Group's SIPP proposition for digital wealth platforms and spent three years as head of master trust proposition for XPS and SEI.
Barnett Waddingham (part of Howden) specialises in risk,
pensions, investment, and insurance. It acts as a trusted partner
for a wide range of clients in both the private and public
sectors – this includes 24 per cent of FTSE 100 and more than 15
per cent of FTSE 350 companies.
Shiprock Capital Management
Shiprock
Capital Management, a London-based investment management firm
that concentrates on distressed and special situations
strategies, has appointed Mauro Roca as a senior sovereign
strategist.
Mauro has worked at institutions such as TCW Group, Goldman
Sachs, the International Monetary Fund, the Federal Reserve Bank
of New York and the Central Bank of Argentina.
At TCW Group, he was head of Latin America Sovereign Strategy. At
Goldman Sachs, Mauro was senior economist for emerging markets,
and chief economist for Argentina, Venezuela and Ecuador.
He holds a PhD and a M Phil in economics from Columbia
University.
