Sarasin & Partners
Sarasin
& Partners has appointed John Muir (pictured) as business
development director for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern
England.
Muir, who has 27 years’ experience, brings expertise in business development, sales leadership and relationship management across the region. Most recently, he served as sales director at O-IM Investment Services, where he worked with professional advisors, wealth managers and business owners to increase sales. He has also held senior positions at firms including Baron & Grant Investment Management, Aubrey Capital Management and Rathbones.
Muir will be responsible for strengthening the relationships that Sarasin already has in the area and developing more new opportunities with professional intermediaries.
Muir’s appointment builds on a period of growth for Sarasin & Partners, the firm said in a statement. Across the UK, Sarasin has also strengthened its regional presence, most recently with the hire of Aimee Searle as regional business development manager covering Wales and the South-West.
“John is exceptionally well placed to strengthen our presence across these regions, bringing a wealth of experience in business development and a proven ability to work closely with professional advisors,” Christopher Cade, head of UK sales, said. “His expertise aligns perfectly with our focus on delivering long-term value for clients, and we look forward to seeing the impact he will have as we continue to grow in the region.”
Sarasin & Partners is a London-based asset management group that manages £17.4 billion ($23.4 billion) of AuM (as of 30 September 2025) on behalf of charities, private clients, intermediaries, institutions, and pension funds from the UK and around the world.
Harneys
Harneys has appointed
Esmond Brown as a partner in its private wealth department in the
Cayman Islands office, with immediate effect.
Brown specialises in advising international high net worth individuals and families on wealth planning, as well as assisting trustees and private banks with all aspects of trusts, including their establishment, restructuring, administration, and succession planning. His expertise also extends to wills, probate, and estate planning. In addition to his non-contentious work, Brown handles contentious trust and private client applications in the Cayman Court. Before joining Harneys, he was a partner in the private client and trusts team at another offshore law firm in the Cayman Islands.
Welcoming Brown, Henry Mander, global head of private wealth, said: “His expertise and extensive experience will further enhance our ability to serve clients, not only across the Americas region, but also globally. His dedication to excellence and his client-focussed approach align perfectly with our commitment to providing innovative and pragmatic advice.”
Brown’s appointment follows a wave of partner hires at the firm since the third quarter of 2025, including Ilona Groark, Ben McCosker, and Wei Lee Lim in the Asia-based disputes resolution team, as well as Stéphane Karolczuk in the Luxembourg funds and asset management and regulatory practices based in Hong Kong.
Harneys’ private wealth team provides advisory services to professional trustees, high net worth individuals and their families, financial institutions, and charities, covering the full spectrum of private client matters.

London, he reports to George Szemere, head of alternatives EMEA

In his new role, Adedoyin will cover distribution of Franklin Templeton’s expanding private markets offering for wealth clients across the region, working with regional distribution teams. Drawing on his background in private markets, he will partner with global private banks and wealth managers to broaden access to the firm’s alternative investment strategies spanning private equity, private credit, real estate, and infrastructure while driving client education, market engagement, and relationship management.
