He is joining after 25 years with Bankinter, where he held various management positions, most recently as private banking director.

Muñoz holds a degree in Law from UCLM, as well as an executive MBA from ESADE and a management programme from IESE.

Rothschild & Co launched its wealth management business in Madrid in 2021. The head of the Spanish business is Hugo Martin.

Bentley Reid
Bentley Reid, a London-headquartered employee-owned wealth manager, has just announced two new appointments to the London office. Ava Glenn is joining as a wealth management executive and Henry Taylor as an investment operations analyst, the firm said in a statement.

Glenn’s responsibilities include supporting the senior wealth managers with research, investment recommendations, reporting and client communication.

Taylor started his career at James Hambro & Partners as an operations assistant supporting the dealing desks. He is part of the team providing middle office functions.

“We are particularly pleased to see further expansion of our London office this year, which began with a senior hire. These appointments build on our existing team and will continue to enable us to provide the best-in-class, personalised, service we provide to our clients,” Michelle Clarke, chief of staff at Bentley Reid, said.

The business offers family office services, wealth planning, trust, investment management, and investment advice from offices in the UK, Hong Kong and Malta.

TrinityBridge
UK wealth manager TrinityBridge, formerly Close Brothers Asset Management, has just appointed Andrew Knight as client relationship director for Scotland.

Previously serving as financial planning director for TrinityBridge, Knight will play a critical part in driving forward the firm’s growth ambitions in the region in this newly-created role, the firm said in a statement.

Knight has gained considerable experience in financial services having worked at TrinityBridge for the past 25 years. He served as financial planning director for the business over the past 15 years, prior to which he led the firm’s Edinburgh office.

In this new role, Knight will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with high net worth clients. He will play a critical part in driving the firm's growth by identifying and securing new client relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and enhancing the firm's market presence.

First Sentier Investors
First Sentier Investors, a global investment manager, has just appointed Jamie Downing as the new head of distribution in EMEA, to bolster its global distribution team.

In his new role, Downing will oversee both wholesale and institutional distribution in the EMEA region, complementing the existing team, with a focus on the UK, Nordics and Middle East markets. He will also be responsible for collaborating with Japan’s Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, First Sentier Investors’ owner, to explore and deliver new investment opportunities for clients in the region, the firm said in a statement.

Downing, who will be based in London, brings experience in the global asset management industry, with expertise in business development, client service and sustainable finance. Previously, he was the global head of client consulting at bfinance. Prior to this, Downing spent 11 years at American Century Investments, most recently as global head of institutional distribution, following a role as director of wealth management and consultants at Russell Investments.

The appointment follows senior promotions announced last year to strengthen the firm’s global sales teams.
