The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.
  Quilter Cheviot
  Quilter
Cheviot has appointed Colin Monton as head of client
development – corporate and entrepreneur, reporting to Michelle
Andrews, managing director – distribution, proposition and
  marketing.
Monton’s remit is to build a business development team within Quilter Cheviot to support the expansion of the company’s business owner exit proposition. He will also be responsible for driving growth in this area via both private clients and professional connections and intermediaries, including independent financial advisors, lawyers and accountants.
Monton was previously head of business development for Rathbones’ Greenbank sustainable investment arm. Before that, he led its private client and charity growth strategy. He has also held senior positions at Coutts & Co, Tilney, Smith & Williamson [now Evelyn Partners] and HSBC.
Both a chartered wealth manager and chartered financial planner, Monton brings experience in delivering wealth management services to high net worth clients, businesses and charities.
“We are delighted to bring in someone of Colin’s calibre into what is an increasingly important area of wealth management,” Andrews said. “Colin brings significant experience to Quilter Cheviot and will be working closely with both the Quilter Cheviot team, and professionals such as IFAs and accountants, recognising where shared expertise can help bring about even better outcomes for these clients.”

Dean, who spent more than a decade with Edinburgh Rugby Club, making more than 150 appearances, became the club’s most-capped centre in its history. His appointment in a business development role, while also training as a financial planner, will help develop opportunities for both the financial planning and investment management teams at the Edinburgh office, the firm said in a statement. It will strengthen relationships with key contacts while raising Evelyn Partners’ profile in the marketplace, concentrating in particular on the firm’s Total Wealth Management offering.
Total Wealth Management is Evelyn Partners’ fully-integrated service bringing together investment management and financial planning. Leveraging the firm’s uniquely extensive and collaborative teams of full-time investment managers and financial planners, the firm says this ensures cohesive wealth management strategies to meet clients’ needs, with investment and planning objectives seamlessly aligned.
‘Chris brings a wealth of experience and a remarkable track record from his time as a professional rugby player, earning a reputation for leadership, professionalism, and dedication both on and off the pitch,” managing partner Stephen Parker said. “His extensive network and deep roots in the Edinburgh community will be invaluable as he focuses on leveraging these connections. I am confident his drive, local knowledge, and relationship-building skills will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow our presence in Edinburgh.”
Evelyn Partners has wide connections to the sporting world. It recently hired Alex Tait, the ex-Newcastle Falcons rugby professional, as a financial planner at its Newcastle office. The firm recently became the official wealth management partner of Manchester City Women’s Football Club and of Saracens Rugby Club. This year, Evelyn Partners also launched a new partnership with Women in Football to deliver a financial education boost for females in the sport.
