Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Quantuma, Evelyn Partners, Eden Tree IM

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

Quantuma
Cross-border border advisory firm Quantuma has appointed Ahmad Chit (pictured) as managing director in its Middle East practice, as it targets growth through expanding its footprint in the region.

Chit is a Canadian qualified chartered accountant with more than 15 years of experience in forensic accounting, investigations and compliance, the firm said in a statement. His experience includes involvement in an array of complex, high-profile investigations and disputes across the Middle East, Africa, North America and Europe.

Chit has been based in the Middle East for 10 years, during which time he has worked with the private sector, local courts, public prosecutors, ministries, local regulators and law enforcement agencies in the region. His regional experience includes work submitted to international courts (DIAC/LCIA), the United Nations, the US Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US.

The latest hire follows the firm’s appointment of restructuring expert and managing director, Nigel Smith in the autumn of 2023.

Evelyn Partners
UK wealth manager Evelyn Partners has appointed Daniel Lewis as an investment director in its Chelmsford office, after the acquisition last April of Ashcroft Partnership, a chartered accountants and tax specialists based in Cambridge city centre.

Prior to joining Evelyn Partners, Lewis spent 22 years as an investment manager at Quilter Cheviot. He works with private clients to help them preserve and grow their wealth, as well as working with the introducer community, including financial planners, solicitors and accountants.

His hire follows the appointment last year of Matthew Shevlane as an associate director in the investment management team in Evelyn Partners’ Cambridge office.

Eden Tree Investment Management
London-based Eden Tree Investment Management, a sustainable asset manager focused on delivering performance with principles, has appointed Michael Moir as senior credit analyst in its fixed income team.

He will report to and work with David Katimbo-Mugwanya, head of fixed income. Moir will also work with Michael Sheehan, co-manager of EdenTree’s responsible and sustainable fixed income strategies, contributing to the formulation of the overall investment strategy and continued growth of the funds, the firm said in a statement.

Moir will lead the credit analytical research function for the fund range and collaborate with the responsible investment team to increase debt issuer engagement initiatives, the firm continued.

Prior to joining EdenTree, Moir worked as a senior analyst at Fitch Ratings, where he was responsible for assessing issuer ratings of UK, Swiss and Greek banks. He also served in various roles at the Bank of England, where he was responsible for capital management assessment, forecasting, and technical analysis.

“The launch of the Global Impact Bond Fund in 2022 signalled our commitment to clients and built on our existing responsible fixed income range. This hire is further to that,” Charlie Thomas, chief investment officer at EdenTree, said.
