Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Mediolanum

The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, and other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.

Mediolanum International Funds Limited
Mediolanum International Funds Limited (MIFL), the investment management arm of Mediolanum Banking Group with €82 billion ($95.78 billion) in assets under management, has appointed Stephen Tapley (pictured) as deputy head of high yield. He is joining a 72-strong investment team based in the firm’s Dublin headquarters.

Tapley, who brings nearly two decades of experience in sub-investment grade credit markets, will contribute to the development, oversight, and long-term performance of MIFL's internally-managed high yield strategies, the firm said in a statement.

Most recently, he spent 14 years at Royal London Asset Management as senior fund manager, leveraged finance (global credit). Previously Tapley worked as high yield analyst at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and investment analyst at Gulf International Bank.

The firm said the appointment is the latest in a series of "expansion milestones" for Mediolanum’s internal investment platform which runs €22 billion of assets across public markets. It expects that assets will continue to grow following recent hires, including Martin Reeves who joined the business as head of high yield fixed income earlier this year, as reported here.

"Stephen is one of the most impressive investors in global and European high yield and we are excited to add him and his great experience to our Mediolanum High Yield team,” Martin Reeves, head of high yield fixed income at MIFL, said. “His appointment underlines our continued commitment to building a high-yield platform with real depth and experience. He brings a strong track record across multiple credit cycles and will be pivotal as we continue to strengthen our internally managed capabilities."
