J O Hambro Capital Management
J O
Hambro Capital Management has added two people to
its Global Emerging Markets Opportunities team: Roshni
Bolton has been appointed as a fund manager and Jack Gater as an
analyst. They are joining senior fund managers James Syme, Paul
Wimborne, and Ada Chan.
Bolton, who is rejoining the firm, has more than 12 years of experience across equity markets and fund structures. She began her career as an analyst in UK equities at J O Hambro before working at Kintbury Capital as an investment analyst. Bolton holds a degree in economics from the London School of Economics and is a CFA Charterholder.
Gater joined J O Hambro in 2022 as a member of the Investment Risk team before joining the Global Emerging Markets Opportunities team. Prior to joining J O Hambro, he worked at JP Morgan Chase & Co and Aviva Investors. Gater holds an MA (Hons) in accounting and business from the University of Edinburgh and is also a CFA Charterholder.
The existing team remains unchanged in terms of responsibilities, investment process, and fund management. The firm said in a statement that these new appointments reflect its confidence in the opportunities presented by the emerging markets asset class and its commitment to the continued growth of the firm’s Global Emerging Markets Opportunities strategy.
“Active investors need an edge to succeed,” James Syme, senior fund manager at J O Hambro, said. “With Roshni and Jack joining our experienced team of investment professionals, we maintain our edge to construct high-conviction, risk-aware portfolios that protect investors’ capital in difficult market environments, meet the growing demand for emerging markets solutions, and generate returns for our investors.”
“These new positions are a testament to our culture of internal development and our ability to welcome back talented professionals,” Clare Forster, CEO of J O Hambro Capital Management, added. “We are excited about the future of the JOHCM Global Emerging Markets Opportunities team and the value these additions will bring.”
