Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Hampden & Co, Swiss Embassy

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

Hampden & Co
UK private bank Hampden & Co has announced the appointment of John Glanville as a banking director in its London office. He will report to Mark Prentice (pictured - right), head of banking, and will work alongside the banking teams in Edinburgh and London.

Glanville (pictured - left) was previously at Kleinwort Hambros where he spent more than 10 years, most recently in the Ultra High Net Worth team as a private banker. He will provide clients with a bespoke banking service including day-to-day banking, deposits and a range of tailored borrowing products.

Introducing Glanville to the firm, Prentice said: “We are delighted to welcome John to Hampden & Co. He brings extensive knowledge of private banking and has a proven track record of building trusted relationships with clients, managing their wealth and supporting their banking needs.”

Glanville added: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Hampden & Co as the bank continues to experience significant demand from a broad range of clients, professional intermediaries, and mortgage introducers. I look forward to meeting clients and to helping them achieve their goals.”

Hampden & Co has continued to add to its banking, senior management, and support teams throughout 2022. This included Kevin Eagles, Gill Sanders and Alistair Macpherson as banking directors, Hannah Berridge as head of professional partnerships and Jon Peake as CFO. The bank now has 125 employees, up 22 per cent in 2022.

Swiss Embassy, UK
The Swiss Embassy in the UK has appointed Excello corporate and commercial lawyer Gitta Altmann as its official legal advisor.

Qualifying in 1997, and additionally admitted to the New York Bar in 1998, Altmann is an English and German speaker with 25 years’ experience of acting for UK and international clients. The focus of her practice is on business acquisitions and disposals, joint venture and shareholders’ agreements, commercial agreements, capital reorganisations and restructures. She has particular expertise advising global clients on setting up operations in the UK.

Altmann’s confirmation as official legal advisor (Vertrauensanwältin) to the London-based Swiss Embassy follows her association with the Austrian Trade Delegation in London as one of its trusted UK-based lawyers and her listing with the German Embassy.
