Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Gen II Fund Services, Aegon AM

The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, and other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.

Gen II Fund Services
Gen II Fund Services, a global private capital fund administrator and provider of tech-enabled fund administration for private capital asset managers and investors, has appointed Niel Krastin (pictured) as director, Private Equity Funds in Guernsey.

Krastin, who has 20 years of financial services and fund administration experience, spanning fund accounting, financial reporting, operations and client service, most recently acted as client relationship director, funds. Previously, he served in senior fund administration and client service positions in the jurisdiction. Earlier in his career, Krastin spent more than 12 years in asset management in South Africa, including more than eight years leading a fund accounting division.

"Niel brings to Gen II a strong technical fund administration experience, senior client service expertise and a deep understanding of the Guernsey market,” Matt Beresford, country head, UK and Channel Islands at Gen II Fund Services, said. “We’re happy to have Niel join Gen II and proud to be building our presence in Guernsey with experienced people on the ground in support of our clients."

Krastin’s appointment follows Gen II securing licences from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission earlier this year to provide fund administration services for Guernsey-domiciled private market structures. A growing demand from asset managers using the jurisdiction and extended Gen II's existing Channel Islands capabilities, created the need.

In other news, KKR, the US private markets giant, has just acquired Gen II Fund Services. See an article here.

He also led major investment transformation programmes.

Additionally, McGowan was a member of the Scottish Widows independent governance committee and chaired an overseas fund board. McGowan’s previous positions included head of fund development and analysis, head of mutual funds, savings and investments, and head of retirement income and planning.
