Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – DWS Group, Charles Russell Speechlys, Liontrust

The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.
DWS Group
European asset manager DWS Group has made a
change to its management team. Vincenzo (Enzo) Vedda will be
joining the executive board of DWS as chief investment officer,
effective 1 August 2025, where he will be responsible for DWS'
liquid business. Vedda had already taken on the role of the
group's head investment strategist in November
2024, initially to bring the areas of portfolio management,
the chief investment office, and economic research in this role.
Vedda has been with DWS since 2013, initially as co-head of global equities trading, prior to taking over the global trading business in 2017. After taking responsibility for the European client business (excluding Germany and Austria) and the global wholesale business of DWS from 2020 onwards, he initially became head of active portfolio management at the end of 2022 and also took over responsibility for passive portfolio management in 2023.
“With Enzo Vedda, we are pleased to have a chief investment officer joining the executive board again,” Stefan Hoops, CEO and chairman of the DWS management board, said. “Enzo is an experienced capital markets expert. With his clear performance orientation and precise knowledge of clients’ needs, he is the right person to strategically position DWS' capital markets expertise for the future and to deliver the added value our clients expect from DWS.”
Prior to his career at DWS, Vedda worked for several years at Morgan Stanley in London and Frankfurt, as well as at DZ Bank in Frankfurt, where he held various sales trading roles in equities and fixed income.

International law firm Charles
Russell Speechlys has appointed Mark Dewar as partner in the
commercial team, and Greg Stonefield, partner in the corporate
team, both based in London.
Dewar was previously partner and head the commercial contracts practice of DLA Piper, as well as a member of its global commercial contracts team. In recent years he was also involved with DLA Piper’s ESG practice.
Dewar’s practice focuses on consumer products, their regulation and risk at all points in the supply chain, including internationally. He regularly advises on complex and international supply chain contracts for business-to-business and business-to-consumer goods and services. His clients operate across a range of industries, including food and beverage, financial services (including payments), life sciences, industrials and renewable energy. Dewar also advises suppliers to the automotive, sport, aviation and TMT sectors.
Stonefield was formerly at Eversheds Sutherland, where he was international corporate finance partner. Prior to that, he spent almost 30 years combined at King & Wood Mallesons, Mayer Brown, White & Case and Linklaters. Stonefield specialises in corporate finance and assisting clients with domestic and international M&A, equity capital markets transactions, IPOs and listings, international reorganisations, joint ventures, private equity transactions and corporate advisory work.
Stonefield also has worked with clients on matters associated with Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the UK. His sector expertise is broad and includes real estate, oil and gas, mining and metals and telecoms, and he advises a range of clients including large financial institutions, listed entities, private companies and family offices.
“Mark and Greg are highly regarded practitioners in their respective fields, and exciting additions to the firm. Both have significant international experience in many of the overseas jurisdictions that are key focuses for our firm, and practices that align with our firm’s core industry and market segments,” David Collins, partner said. “Mark and Greg’s deep international and sector experience will enhance the support we offer to our clients and foster further collaboration and connectivity across groups, divisions and offices.”
The appointments of Dewar and Stonefield follow a number of recent hires internationally into the firm’s Business Advisory and Transaction Services Division. Liontrust
Specialist UK asset manager Liontrust has promoted Clare
Pleydell-Bouverie to co-head of the Global Innovation team
Alongside her fellow co-head Storm Uru, Pleydell-Bouverie (pictured) is co-lead manager of the team’s three strategies – Global Innovation, Global Technology and Global Dividend – which are distributed to UK, European and South African clients.
Pleydell-Bouverie was a founding member of the Global Innovation team, alongside Uru. Prior to Liontrust she worked in global equities at Neptune Investment Management and in private equity research across a range of industries.
The team’s investment process is based on the belief that innovation is the single most important driver of stock returns: innovative companies deliver superior operational performance, create stronger barriers to competition and shareholder returns over the long run.
“Clare’s promotion is recognition of how we have together developed the Global Innovation investment process and driven the performance of the three strategies,” Uru said. “We are heading into a golden period for active investing and the Global Innovation strategies not only target the innovators well positioned to win over the next decade, which are different from the past, but also employ a highly active approach, which we believe will be vital as price-insensitive participation in the market increases.”
