Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – De Lisle Partners, Cypher Capital, Others

The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.

De Lisle Partners
UK-based De Lisle Partners (DLP), a specialist US small-cap investment boutique, has promoted Dan Scott Lintott (pictured below) to assistant fund manager and appointed Phil Coombes as investment analyst.

Dan Scott Lintott

Scott Lintott’s promotion recognises his significant role supporting Richard de Lisle, chief investment officer and lead fund manager, in the management of the VT De Lisle America Fund, the firm said in a statement. Scott Lintott’s remit includes supporting the daily management of the fund, undertaking company research, monitoring portfolio holdings and making investment recommendations. He also executes approved equity trades, subject to CIO approval and sign-off. Scott Lintott joined De Lisle Partners in May 2024 as an investment analyst.

Coombes (pictured below), who joined De Lisle Partners in May, spent five years as an equity analyst at HC Andersen Capital. He brings analytical skills across a range of companies.

Phil Coombes

Alongside Dan and Phil, de Lisle is supported by the wider DLP Investment Committee, chaired by Jonathan Lang, and the wider research team, headed by Gill Charlton.

“Dan's promotion to assistant fund manager is thoroughly deserved and reflects the contribution he already makes to the investment process and day-to-day running of the De Lisle America Fund. With Phil joining us as investment analyst, these significant appointments will enhance our rigorous investment research and processes,” de Lisle said.

Cypher Capital
Dubai-headquartered Cypher Capital, a multi-asset investment manager, has appointed Arash Saidi (pictured) as chief executive officer.

Saidi has served as general partner and chief legal officer of Cypher Capital, leading investment structuring and execution across the group’s investment management and AI infrastructure businesses and heading its private equity activity. He has more than 20 years’ experience of sourcing, assessing, structuring and executing investments throughout the Middle East, Europe and Australia.

Previously, Said was general counsel of GFH Financial Group, a Bahrain-based investment bank with about $22 billion in assets under management, where he worked on investments covering infrastructure, real estate and logistics in the GCC, Europe and the US. Most recently, he served as chief legal officer of M2, a UAE-based digital asset investment platform. Before that, whilst in private practice, Saidi was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of of England & Wales. He holds bachelor of laws and bachelor of business degrees from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

“Cypher has grown from a digital asset specialist into a platform institutional investors can engage with across asset classes,” Bijan Alizadeh, founder and chairman, said. “Arash has been central to building that platform – its funds, its structures and its discipline. His appointment as chief executive officer reflects the scale of what comes next and our commitment to institutional-grade leadership.”

Schellenberg Wittmer
Law firm Schellenberg Wittmer has appointed Nicolas Candaux (pictured below) as a partner in its tax group in Geneva, with immediate effect.

Nicolas Candaux

Candaux is a “highly regarded attorney and certified tax expert,” who has more than 15 years of experience advising Swiss and international clients across the full spectrum of tax law. He will strengthen the firm’s ability to advise corporations, entrepreneurs, family offices and private clients on complex Swiss and international tax matters, the firm said in a statement.

Candaux works with families and ultra-high net worth individuals with estate and succession planning, relocation to Switzerland, asset protection and wealth structuring through trusts, private foundations and investment vehicles. He also advises corporations on tax issues related to M&A transactions, group reorganisations and the implementation of employee incentive plans. Candaux has experience negotiating advance tax rulings with the Swiss tax authorities and frequently represents clients in tax disputes and mutual assistance proceedings.

Prior to joining Schellenberg Wittmer, Nicolas Candaux was a partner in the tax department of a Geneva law firm, where he developed a practice advising HNW individuals, family offices, and Swiss and international groups.

WealthBriefing recently interviewed Schellenberg Wittmer about its use of arbitration as a less expensive way of resolving disputes such as trusts and estates arguments.
