Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Boodle Hatfield, Charles Stanley, Others  

The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.

Boodle Hatfield
London-based Boodle Hatfield, a private wealth and real estate law firm, has appointed two new partners. Neil Biswas, formerly at Trowers & Hamlins, joins the real estate team and David Davies, formerly at Kingsley Napley, comes into its corporate and commercial team.

Biswas (pictured below) has more than 20 years of experience in real estate investment and development across both the private and public sectors, and in particular the London market. His extensive expertise encompasses social housing and regeneration, industrial and mixed-use development, joint ventures, and complex funding structures, with a strong emphasis on financing major schemes.

Biswas has advised many of the sector’s largest investors including UK and international developers, social housing investors, regeneration specialists, investment funds, and end users across a broad spectrum of property asset classes. He will play a key role in spearheading the firm's investment into the living sector.

Davies (pictured below) brings a broad range of corporate expertise developed through his work with owner-managed businesses, family offices, international investors, entrepreneurs, venture-backed companies and management teams. With significant experience in the technology sector and a strong interest in the ESG-driven impact economy, Davies advises on a full spectrum of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, IPOs, public and private fundraising, corporate restructuring, governance matters, LLPs and partnership matters.

Charles Stanley
Charles Stanley, part of Raymond James Wealth Management, has appointed two new investment managers.

Hitesh Mistry and Gregory Perdon both bring “significant” experience in wealth management and private banking, the firm said in a statement. In their new roles they will be responsible for providing clients with investment management services, and developing existing and new client relationships.

Mistry has more than 30 years’ experience specialising in discretionary portfolio strategies and advisory services for high net worth individuals, trusts, SIPPs, charities, and corporate clients, Previously at Rowan Dartington – the discretionary arm of St James’s Place – he was an investment manager for almost a decade. He will be based in Charles Stanley’s Birmingham office, reporting to Robert Dornan, director of investment management services.

Perdon joins from McInroy & Wood where he was investment director. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Arbuthnot Latham as co-chief investment officer. He has 26 years’ experience delivering “excellent portfolio performance” and as a trusted advisor to HNW families, trustees and professional intermediaries. Perdon will come into the London team, reporting to Will Walker-Arnott, director of private clients and team leader, Charles Stanley.

Brades
Boutique wealth manager Brades, formerly J H Flemmings, has appointed Humza Malik as chairman.

Malik will support the delivery of the firm’s new client proposition which is focused exclusively on supporting the financial planning needs of business owners and entrepreneurs. Brades will work exclusively with founders planning to realise value upon exit in the £10 million ($13.4 million) to £50 million range, with a commitment to delivering institutional-quality investment expertise and strategic insight traditionally reserved for larger corporations and family offices. This will include managing business exits, succession planning and tax-efficient wealth structuring.

Malik has more than 30 years of experience in leading multi-billion-pound M&A transactions. His strategic guidance will help shape the next phase of the company, which aims to redefine how entrepreneurs manage the business lifecycle and their wealth, the firm said in a statement.

“Leveraging his [Humza’s] expertise in scaling businesses to successful exit, we will continue to advance our overarching mission of challenging even the most accomplished entrepreneurs to continually push boundaries and harness their wealth as a force for positive impact for their family and their wider community,” Andrew Holder, managing director, Brades, said.

FNZ
Peter Hiom has joined FNZ as group head of markets, based in London and reporting to Roman Regelman, group president. Hiom, who brings extensive experience in global capital markets, previously served as deputy CEO at ASX and in senior roles at the Sydney Futures Exchange and the London International Financial Futures Exchange.

In his new role, Hiom will lead FNZ Markets, which provides clients with multi-asset listed securities execution, order management systems, post-trade software, and securities clearing and settlement services, alongside foreign exchange and other downstream capabilities.
