Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Arbuthnot Latham, Columbia Threadneedle Investments

The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.

Arbuthnot Latham
Arbuthnot Latham has hired Greg Ripley-Kinchin as a senior private banker, and Jack Akister as a private banker to join the private bank’s media team.

Over the last three years, the media team has more than doubled the number of clients it serves, which is now in excess of 2,000, and is continuing to attract excellent bankers with extensive experience in the space. Their appointments bring the total number of bankers within the Media team to 15, adding extra strength to Arbuthnot’s offering, the UK bank said in a statement.

Ripley-Kinchin has worked in the sector for more than 10 years, starting his career at NatWest where he worked as a senior personal banker. He moved to RBS’s private banking division under Child & Co and Drummonds, before joining Coutts, where he focused on the sports, music, TV, and film industries. In his new role, he will look after clients in the creatives space.

Akister has more than five years in financial services and holds several qualifications, including IAD and CeMAP. In his most recent role as a private banker at Coutts, he specialised in supporting clients within the sport, media and entertainment sectors. At Arbuthnot, Akister will work with clients within the sports, creatives and interactive sectors.

The pair will focus on delivering tailored banking and wealth solutions to clients, reinforcing Arbuthnot’s commitment to relationship-focused banking. They will collaborate with teams across the bank to ensure that their clients receive the highest level of service and are matched with the individuals best suited to meet their specific needs.

“We’re thrilled to welcome two additional bankers to our media team, which continues to be an area of growing focus for the private bank,” Robert Stapledon, head of media banking, said. “Greg and Jack each bring unique strengths and expertise to the team that will significantly enhance the service we are able to deliver to our clients.”

Columbia Threadneedle Investments
Columbia Threadneedle Investments has appointed Fanni Pfeningberger as active ETF business development manager, based in Vienna, covering Continental Europe. In this newly-created role, she will support the growth of Columbia Threadneedle’s active ETF business, complementing sales directors with specialist expertise in ETFs and targeting new client channels.

Previously, Pfeningberger was responsible for institutional and wealth sales across Central and Eastern Europe for BlackRock. Her experience spanned active and passive investments, portfolio solutions, alternatives and technology partnerships. In addition to her sales experience, she holds advanced degrees in finance and technology management and innovation, recently earning the CFA Certificate in private markets and alternative investments.

Her appointment adds to the innovation brought to the business by the launch of the CT QR (Quant Redefined) Active ETF Series, which have been listed on the Deutsche Börse Xetra and SIX Swiss Exchange, with a listing on the London Stock Exchange due in the coming weeks.

“We are thrilled to welcome Fanni to our team,” Christine Cantrell, head of active ETFs, distribution, EMEA said. “Her deep knowledge of diverse clients’ investment practices, her consultative approach and ability to provide a value-add service to clients will be instrumental in accelerating the growth of our Active ETF offering,”
