Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – AlTi Tiedemann Global, Cognito, Others

The latest senior moves, appointments and personnel changes in wealth management for the UK, rest of Europe, Middle East and select international locations.

AITi Tiedenann Global
AlTi Tiedemann Global has appointed former Stanhope Capital partner Alex Kershaw as managing director, based in London.

Kershaw, a charterd financial analyst, brings more than 24 years of experience providing advice on investments to institutional and private clients; he will serve an international investor base, initially concentrating on the Middle East and the UK. Kershaw will focus on single family offices, endowments and foundations, and other institutions. As part of the role, he will lead the outsourced chief investment officer offering for AlTi’s international wealth management business.

Prior to this, Kershaw was a partner at Stanhope Capital for seven years, where he established the firm’s Middle East business. (Stanhope is now in the process of being taken over by US-headquartered Corient.) Prior to that, he served for 16 years as a partner at Cambridge Associates, a global advisory firm.

Cognito
Cognito, a specialist communications agency for the financial, technology and the climate transition, has appointed Simon Evans as head of Financial Services in London.

Previously, he was a managing director for MHP Group’s capital markets and corporate advisory team. Before MHP, Evans led Portland's financial communications team and prior to that was a director at the consultancy Kekst CNC. His recent clients have included large insurers, investment banks, private capital firms and sovereign wealth funds. Evans is a former journalist who has served in senior editorial roles at the Independent, City AM, and Citywire. He began his career in investment banking.

"Simon brings an understanding of both the newsroom and the trading floor – at a time when that clarity is needed most,” Tom Coombes, founder and chief executive officer, Cognito, said. “He's a fantastic addition to the team, and his arrival allows us to scale our expertise in key growth areas."

Evans' appointment, which is part of Cognito's strategy to strengthen its leadership team and expertise in the UK, follows Brian Norris' appointment in August as managing director for the firm's UK office. Norris also joined from MHP Group, where he launched and built the agency's successful offering for the insurance and risk sector. In September, Cognito appointed Jo Parker as non-executive director; he has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the international marketing and communications industry.

Beavis Morgan
Beavis Morgan, a specialist accounting, tax, restructuring, and business advisory firm, has appointed Tim Shaw as corporate tax partner, effective 5 January 2026.

Shaw is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA)-qualified corporate tax specialist with more than 30 years’ experience advising owner-managed businesses, inward investors, multinational groups, and high net worth individuals.

Prior to this, Shaw served in partner roles at Blick Rothenberg and Ensors Accountants. His background also includes senior in-house tax leadership roles at AT&T UK and Viatel, with a focus on European tax compliance, structuring and transfer pricing.
