Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Aberdeen Investments, Ruffer, Suntera

The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, and other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.
Aberdeen Investments
Aberdeen
Investments has appointed Caroline Hertrich (pictured) as
head of UK & EMEA exchange-traded fund strategy, a
newly-created leadership role to support the growth of the firm’s
ETF franchise across the UK and EMEA.
Working with teams across investments, product, distribution and marketing, she will help drive the growth of Aberdeen's ETF platform, strengthen client engagement and support the development of future ETF capabilities across the region.
Hertrich has more than 15 years of experience spanning ETFs, index investing and investment solutions across EMEA and the US. She joins from Bloomberg, where she served as index sales lead for UK and Ireland buy-side clients, and helped expand the firm’s index footprint across asset classes. Prior to this, Hertrich held senior leadership positions at FTSE Russell and BlackRock, where she played a central role in ETF product strategy, distribution, and client engagement across European markets. Throughout her career, she has worked with asset managers, insurers, and institutional investors to develop and implement investment solutions. Hertrich’s experience includes product lifecycle management for BlackRock's EMEA investment offerings and pioneering the use of ETFs with institutional clients.
"Caroline joins Aberdeen at an exciting stage in the evolution of our ETF business. She brings deep ETF expertise, strong commercial leadership and a proven track record of helping investment businesses grow and scale across multiple markets,” Steven Dunn, global head of ETFs at Aberdeen Investments, said. “As in the US, we will focus on areas where we have conviction, a differentiated proposition and where we identify a clear client need. Europe is at an earlier stage of its ETF journey than the US, but there is growing interest, particularly in active strategies. Caroline will play a key role in shaping our European plans and translating them into long-term commercial success which are squarely focussed on client solutions.”
Ruffer
London-headquartered Ruffer, a provider of
investment management services for institutions, pension funds,
charities, financial planners and private clients, has appointed

He will be based in London, reporting to Jos North, head of clients and distribution. Millar will have responsibility for leading the firm’s next phase of institutional growth and deepening relationships with asset owners in the UK, US and internationally, the firm said in a statement.
Millar, who has more than 25 years’ experience in client leadership, spent 23 years at Invesco, where his senior roles included head of UK Institutional, head of EMEA Institutional and head of UK. He established Invesco’s Institutional presence in the Middle East, developed relationships with major sovereign wealth funds and government clients, and led teams across institutional, wholesale and retail markets. Most recently, he worked with Southern Right Capital to find, invest with and grow new and emerging asset management strategies.
“Alex’s appointment is an important step in Ruffer’s next phase of growth. Asset owners are navigating a more complex investment environment and want partners with clarity of purpose, depth of expertise and a genuinely differentiated approach,” Jos North, head of Clients and Distribution at Ruffer, said. “Ruffer has a distinctive role to play in helping clients understand and respond to investment regime change and build resilience into their portfolios. Alex’s experience of leading internationally connected teams and developing long-term strategic relationships with some of the world’s most sophisticated asset owners strengthens our ability to serve institutional clients in the UK and internationally.”
Founded in 1994, today Ruffer has more than 240 staff spanning offices in London, Paris New York, Edinburgh and Guernsey. Ruffer has £18.0 billion ($24.07 billion) in assets under management, as at 31 August 2026.
