Evelyn Partners
Evelyn
Partners, a wealth management and professional services group
created from the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson, has
appointed Oliver Robson as an investment director, to help grow
the business.
With 11 years of experience within multi-asset investment management and private banking, Robson will help to increase the growth of the firm’s London office, the company said in a statement.
He joins Evelyn Partners after spending five years at Quartet Investment Managers where he was also an investment director. According to the firm, Robson has experience in developing partnerships with financial advisor businesses and other professional service firms providing bespoke investment solutions for their clients. Robson has worked with offshore and onshore private clients, pensions, trusts and corporate clients, and managed both traditional and ESG/positive impact portfolios.
Welcoming him to the firm, Hugo Smith, regional managing partner at Evelyn Partners, said: “I am confident he will play an important role in the continued growth of our business following our re-brand to Evelyn Partners and move into new offices in Gresham Street.”

Quaero Capital
Geneva-based specialist asset manager Quaero
Capital has hired Olivier Ken as portfolio manager, to
strengthen its team dedicated to clean energy and carbon
neutrality.
Based in Paris, he will join Martina Turner, manager of the Quaero Capital Funds (Lux) – Accessible Clean Energy fund, to manage a new strategy dedicated to the transition to a carbon neutral economy, the firm said. Prior to joining Quaero Capital, Ken was fund manager at Ecofi Investissements. He has has 22 years of experience in the financial industry.
After starting his career at Jefferies & Company as an institutional salesman, he joined Financière de Champlain in 2010 as a fund manager, then joined Ecofi Investissements in 2016 as a global equity manager, the firm said in a statement. A specialist in sustainable investment, Ken holds a DEA in finance from the University of Paris X Nanterre and is a member of the French Society of Financial Analysts, it added.
Together with Turner, he will manage a new "net zero" strategy, which aims to identify and invest in companies that offer products, services or technologies to accelerate the transition to a "net zero" emissions economy, the firm said.
The strategy will select current and future leaders in energy and environmental transition from around the world and across all sectors – including companies active in the circular economy.
The firm, which says that responsible investment is at the heart of its investment philosophy and processes, has had an in-house team of ESG analysts for over five years.
Welcoming him to the firm, Jean Keller, CEO of Quaero Capital, said that Ken will strengthen its clean energy and carbon neutrality management team and manage its future strategy dedicated to the winners of the transition to 'net zero'.
Founded in Geneva, Quaero Capital is a specialist fund management
group which manages €2 billion ($2.02 billion), offering a range
of investment strategies through its Luxembourg, Swiss and Irish
regulated funds as well as private equity funds investing in
European infrastructure and French real estate.
GAM Investments
Asset manager GAM Investments has
appointed Magnus Jahnke as head of Nordics, distribution, based
in Stockholm, and starting in September.
Jahnke, who will report to Jill Barber, global head of institutional solutions, will be responsible for GAM’s distribution strategy in the Nordics, leading business development, client service and engagement with consultants in the region, the firm said in a statement. With a longstanding experience in asset management and an established network in the region, Jahnke will strengthen GAM's local distribution expertise and deepen the firm’s relationships with its clients, it added.
He will be joining from Jupiter Asset Management, where he was managing director, head of Nordics for the past six years. Prior to that, he spent five years at Lancelot Asset Management AB, latterly as portfolio manager and head of fund selection, which he joined from Nordea Investment Management, the firm said.
Jahnke holds a master’s degree in business administration and economics from Stockholm University.
Jahnke said GAM’s actively managed, differentiated investment strategies and commitment to sustainable investing is a powerful combination to help clients meet their investment requirements and he looked forward to contributing to the future growth of the Nordic region.
GAM is an asset manager, with $103 billion assets under management as of 31 March 2022.
Deepbridge Capital
Venture capital investment manager Deepbridge
Capital has appointed Simon Thelwall-Jones to the
newly-created role of venture partner.
According to the firm, Thelwall-Jones brings experience as a qualified chartered accountant, a company director and a corporate finance expert. His most recent roles include being investment director at MSIF, as well as director of technology ventures for the Development Bank of Wales.
Initially, the newly-created role will be focused on working with a number of Deepbridge’s high-growth portfolio companies, whilst also working on a number of new fund opportunities, the firm added in a statement.
This appointment forms part of a wider restructure within Deepbridge: Dr Savvas Neophytou is moving from the role of head of life sciences to become chief investment officer; Louise Farley will become head of private placement; Andrew Aldridge will be chief marketing officer; and Steve Shallcross, chief information and technology officer, is now a partner, the firm said.
Deepbridge reported a record year of fundraising during the 2021/22 tax year, the firm added.

Management
Edmond de Rothschild has appointed two new portfolio
managers, Alexis Bossard and Guillaume Laconi, in its equity
team, to strengthen its investment capacities.
Starting in July, Alexis Bossard joined the equity team as a portfolio manager/analyst. He is co-fund manager of Edmond de Rothschild SICAV Green New Deal, an international equity fund focused on climate change, alongside Kevin Net, the firm said in a statement. Based in Paris, he reports to Caroline Gauthier and Jacques-Aurélien Marcireau, co-heads of equity management.
Prior to joining Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, he worked for seven years at Crédit Mutuel CIC Asset Management as a European equity portfolio manager. Between 2012 and 2015, he was global equity analyst at Société Générale CIB in London and in Dubly Gestion – Banque Transatlantique in Lille.
Starting in July, Guillaume Laconi, 43 years-old, joined the equity team as a portfolio manager/analyst. He is co-fund manager of Edmond de Rothschild SICAV Tricolore Rendement, a commitment fund supporting French companies for over 20 years, alongside Ariane Hayate, the firm said. Based in Paris, he also reports to Caroline Gauthier and Jacques-Aurélien Marcireau.
Prior to joining Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, Laconi worked for 10 years at CA Indosuez Gestion, most recently as head of equities management Europe and Impact. Between 2009 and 2011, he was a portfolio manager and analyst European equities at Flinvest. Previously, he was fund manager European equities at Neuflize OBC AM, where he spent seven years.
