Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – UBP, C Hoare & Co

The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes among wealth management and related organisations in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and select international locations.

Geneva-headquartered private bank Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has announced the return of Thomas Christiansen (pictured) as head of emerging market fixed income. Based in the London office, he has rejoined UBP as a senior managing director, bringing experience in sovereign debt and emerging market investments, the firm said in a statement.

Christiansen previously spent two and a half years at specialist emerging markets investment manager Ashmore, where he managed sovereign debt portfolios and chaired the investment committee for the firm’s multi-sector emerging market debt mandates.

"His deep expertise in emerging market debt and strong track record as an investor make him a valuable addition to our emerging market (EM) fixed income team. We look forward to his contributions as we continue to expand and refine our emerging markets offering,” said Nicolas Faller, co-CEO of asset management at UBP.

C Hoare & Co
C Hoare & Co, the UK’s oldest privately-owned bank, has appointed Richard Keers as a non-executive director.

Keers has more than 35 years of experience in financial services. From 2013 until 2024, he served as the group CFO and COO at Schroders. Prior to joining Schroders, Keers qualified as a chartered accountant and was a senior audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC). He was also a non-executive director of the Lloyd’s of London franchise board and chairman of its audit committee from 2016 to 2019.

“We are delighted to welcome Richard to the Board. He brings extensive financial services experience, deep insight into the evolving needs of customers and operational expertise. All this will be highly valuable to the Board and we look forward to his contribution,” Lord Macpherson of Earl’s Court, chairman of C Hoare & Co said.
