Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Helvetic Trust, Algebris, Amundi, Others

The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes for wealth management in the UK, rest of Europe, Middle East and select international locations.

Helvetic Trust
Helvetic Trust, a Swiss multi-family office that is based in Zurich, has appointed Reto Frei (pictured below) as senior partner. He has worked in the private banking sector for 15 years, the organisation said in a statement on its LinkedIn page.

Frei started out his career as a relationship manager for UBS and Credit Suisse. Since 2018, he was responsible for financial and strategic matters as chief financial officer of a Swiss single-family office, called Sayano.

In his new role, Frei is based in Zurich. He is a Certified International Investment Analyst and has a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Algebris (UK)
Algebris (UK), a global asset manager, has appointed Sir Jon Cunliffe as non-executive director and chair following approval by the Financial Conduct Authority, effective 1 January.

Sir Jon brings significant experience in senior public service and financial policy at the Bank of England, as well as deep expertise in governance and oversight within the UK financial system. Before joining the Bank, Sir Jon was the UK Permanent Representative to the European Union, effective from January 2012. From July 2007 to December 2011, he was Second Permanent Secretary at HM Treasury, managing director of the Macroeconomic and International Finance Directorate. Sir Jon was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath in the New Year Honours 2001 and made a Knight Bachelor in the New Year Honours 2010.

He will work closely with the board and executive team to support the firm’s UK strategy and the long-term growth of the Algebris Investments Group.

As of 30 November 2025, Algebris manages about €34 billion ($39.73 billion) in assets, with a global team of more than 175 professionals across offices in London, Milan, Rome, Zurich, Dublin, Boston, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Amundi
France-headquartered asset manager Amundi has made four senior appointments with immediate effect: Alexandre Lefebvre as deputy head of Real Assets and Alternatives; Pierre-Adrien Domon as chief executive officer of Sabadell Asset Management; Michaël Martineau as chief executive officer of Fund Channel; and Claire Chabrier as head of direct investing – private markets within the Real Assets and Alternatives division.

Lefebvre has worked for Amundi since 1999, starting as a financial operations and external growth project leader at Credit Lyonnais Asset Management until 2004, then responsible for Asian entities development coordination at Credit Agricole Asset Management. In 2010, Lefebvre became chief operating officer of Amundi Iberia in charge of supervising the control and development functions for Amundi Group’s Spanish subsidiary. He moved to Amundi London, where he was head of Institutional Portfolio Management for the Amundi Emerging Markets platform after having been head of the investment specialist team for the Global Fixed Income platform. In 2020, he was appointed CEO of Sabadell AM. Alexandre holds a degree from Telecom Business School and an MSc in international finance from HEC.

Domon began his career at Natixis Axeltis in London (now Euroclear FundsPlace) as a client relationship manager and then as business development manager for institutional and distribution networks. In 2009, he joined Fund Channel, a B2B fund distribution platform, as CEO of the Swiss subsidiary. In 2012, he became head of business development for Fund Channel Group in Luxembourg.

Pierre-Adrien was appointed deputy CEO of Fund Channel Group in 2019, then CEO of Fund Channel in 2020. He holds an MSc in finance from EDHEC Business School, France.

Michaël Martineau has more than 25 years of experience in banking, finance and technology. He began his career in Paris before joining Fund Channel’s headquarters in Luxembourg in 2009 as an IT manager. Subsequently, he moved into roles covering operations, IT and product strategy, serving as chief operating officer from 2019. In 2025 he was appointed deputy CEO of Fund Channel – Products, Strategy and Innovation, and became CEO of Fund Channel in 2026. Martineau played a key role in transforming the platform through major projects and recently led the launch of Fund Channel Liquidity, a solution designed to meet corporate treasurers’ needs.

Chabrier, who has 25 years of experience in private equity, started her career in 1997 at Arthur Andersen in audit and transaction services. In 2002, she joined the team of Societe Generale Asset Management (SGAM), overseeing private equity in Eastern Europe. She joined the Amundi Private Equity Funds (Amundi PEF) teams in 2011, most recently as a managing partner. Amundi PEF invests in the capital of non-listed SMEs and mid?sized companies. Chabrier served as president of France Invest, the association representing private equity, infrastructure, and private debt asset managers in France, from 2021 to 2023. She holds a master’s degree in accounting and financial sciences and techniques, and a master’s degree in corporate taxation from Université Paris?Dauphine.

J O Hambro Capital Management
J O Hambro Capital Management (JOHCM) has appointed Josh Herson as fund manager, effective 5 January 2026. He is joining senior fund managers James Lowen and Clive Beagles on the JOHCM UK Equity Income fund.

Herson previously served as head of portfolio management at Brooks Macdonals, where he was responsible for managing a range of multi-asset portfolios. He was also head of UK equity research, a member of the asset allocation Committee and sat on the investment committee. Prior to Brooks Macdonald, Herson was a portfolio manager at Saunderson House. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is also a Chartered Wealth Manager (CISI).

“I am delighted that Josh is joining James and [me] at this time; having followed his career progress over the last few years, I know there will be a very strong cultural fit for our team,” Clive Beagles, senior fund manager, said. “He has a genuine belief in value investing which will prove critical in navigating whatever twists and turns lie ahead of us.”
