Cazenove
Capital, the wealth management business of UK-based
Schroders, has appointed Lynsey Carson (main picture) as
business development director for Scotland and the North.
In this newly-created role, Carson will be responsible for accelerating the firm’s growth and presence in the discretionary fund management (DFM) market. Working with Simon Cooper, head of DFM, she will support financial advisors and their high net worth clients. This will involve building long-term relationships with independent financial advisors (IFAs) and professional advisors, to provide specialist and bespoke investment services, and enhancing Cazenove Capital’s banking and lending solutions for clients across Scotland and the North of England.
“She brings with her a wealth of experience in the DFM space that enhances our commitment to expanding Cazenove Capital’s reach in the UK advisor market,” Cooper said.
Carson, who has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, most recently served as regional head of distribution for Rathbones Wealth Management, leading business development across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Her career also includes senior roles with LGT Wealth Management, Butterfield Private Bank, and within the RBS Group, including positions at Coutts and NatWest Private Banking. She is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and a diploma member of the PFS, dedicating time as membership officer for the Central Scotland PFS region.
JP Morgan
JP Morgan has
appointed Trevor Isherwood (pictured below) as chief marketing
officer for the international private bank, based in London.

Isherwood served in a similar role as marketing chief for HSBC’s
private bank for three years prior to his appointment this month
at JP Morgan.
In other roles, he worked at TitanBay and Fidelity International.

7IM has appointed Ben
Kumar (pictured below) in the newly-created role of head of
strategy – wealth, public policy and investment.

In his expanded role, he will continue to contribute to portfolio strategy while leading the group’s public policy positioning, industry engagement and strategic thinking across wealth and investment. Kumar will help 7IM communicate on majoir issues for stakeholders. He will represent the group across policy forums, media and industry events, contributing to debates spanning portfolios, pensions, to pocket money.
A frequent commentator in both broadcast, national and trade media and author of 7IM’s weekly investment update 7IM@7AM, Kumar has established a reputation for clear, accessible communication and a unique tone that cuts through complexity, the firm said in a statement.

London-based Serone
Capital Management, an investment manager specialising in
alternative credit, has appointed Patrick Wills as a portfolio
manager within its global structured credit team.
Previously, Wills was a managing director at Morgan Stanley, where he served as global head of Structured Products Group Repo Trading (SPG), and prior to that, he traded in residential mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortage-backed securities, and asset-backed securities (ABS). In this role, he built the firm’s SPG repo business, establishing Morgan Stanley’s standing in the financing of synthetic risk transfers (SRTs) and nonperforming loans (NPLs) in Europe.
Wills, who has more than 14 years experience in structured credit, will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of structured credit assets, with a focus on public and private ABS, SRTs, and NPLs.
