The latest moves in wealth management from across Europe and the Middle East.
Stonehage Fleming
Independent family office Stonehage Fleming
is expanding its private capital team in London, adding Meiping
Yap as director and James Jefferson as senior associate. Both are
new positions and were taken up in September and October 2018
respectively.
Yap joined from the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation and HarbourVest Partners in London. Jefferson joined from MVision Private Equity Advisers in London and Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was at BlackRock in London.
The major family office, which has sealed a number of growth alliances in recent months, said that private equity is a core part of the firm’s multi-disciplinary offering, with the group investing $100 million in private capital over the past year, and $1 billion since 2001. The expanded the private capital team will focus primarily on small to mid-market private equity investments globally, with a secondary focus on technology and opportunistic investment.

Shearman & Sterling
US law firm Shearman &
Sterling has appointed private client specialist Anna Salek
who joins its New York office.
Salek will advise high net worth individuals, family offices and
foundations, both in the US and abroad. Her practice is focused
primarily on representing high net worth individuals and their
family offices and foundations, trusts and estates and tax
planning matters.
Prior to this, she worked as a partner in the trusts and estates
practice of Kirkland & Ellis in New York and was previously at
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
Vontobel
The Swiss firm has appointed Daniela Diethelm to take over
running the wealth management market for Germany and Northern
Europe from June this year. She succeeds Roland Rötheli, who had
been in the post for a decade. He will continue to advise German
clients and is vice chairman of Germany at the Zurich-listed
firm.
Prior to this, Diethelm, managed the business development wealth
management EMEA area at UBS.
