London-based Saranac Partners'
private office has appointed Alexis Weber as a private markets
specialist. He is joining the group's private capital team from
Citibank, where he was head of the EMEA private markets
Investment team. He has a 16-year track record in private equity
working at LGT Capital Partners, Boston Consulting Group, 3i
Group and in the investment banking division at Credit Suisse.
Reporting to head of proposition at Saranac Brent Seery, Weber will work with clients across all private asset classes at a time when "interest and activity in private markets is at an all-time high," the firm said.
Mercer
Appointed to oversee a 200-strong team that includes 50 financial
planners, Mercer, the pensions
advisory giant, has named Steve Sands to lead its UK financial
planning business. Sands will be in charge of stepping up the
integration of its financial planning teams and “setting
strategic direction” at the firm, it announced yesterday. A
25-year veteran of financial planning, Sands joins from Standard
Life and will report to Benoit Hudon, Mercer’s UK wealth leader.
His main expertise is in wealth management and platform technology and he was most recently Standard Life’s UK director of platform distribution and workplace relationships.
