Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Saranac Partners, Mercer

The latest moves in wealth management from across Europe and the UK.

Saranac Partners
London-based Saranac Partners' private office has appointed Alexis Weber as a private markets specialist. He is joining the group's private capital team from Citibank, where he was head of the EMEA private markets Investment team. He has a 16-year track record in private equity working at LGT Capital Partners, Boston Consulting Group, 3i Group and in the investment banking division at Credit Suisse.

Reporting to head of proposition at Saranac Brent Seery, Weber will work with clients across all private asset classes at a time when "interest and activity in private markets is at an all-time high," the firm said.

Mercer
Appointed to oversee a 200-strong team that includes 50 financial planners, Mercer, the pensions advisory giant, has named Steve Sands to lead its UK financial planning business. Sands will be in charge of stepping up the integration of its financial planning teams and “setting strategic direction” at the firm, it announced yesterday. A 25-year veteran of financial planning, Sands joins from Standard Life and will report to Benoit Hudon, Mercer’s UK wealth leader.

His main expertise is in wealth management and platform technology and he was most recently Standard Life’s UK director of platform distribution and workplace relationships.
