Hawksmoor
Investment Management, a UK firm, has appointed Neal Smith as
head of distribution for the South West region of England and
Wales.
Smith has worked in financial advice, compliance and features
writing, as well as business development. During his business
development career he set up the business-to-business wing at
Whitechurch Securities and was more recently head of sales, South
West and Wales at Parmenion.
The company has offices in Exeter, London, Taunton, Dorchester
and Bury St Edmunds.
State Street
Nils Hoffmann has joined State Street as a client executive for
Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Based in Frankfurt, he will report to Silvio Angius, a leader of the global clients division, and Stefan Gmuer, chief executive officer for State Street International. In this role, he will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of some of the firm's largest and most complex clients.
With more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, Hoffman joins from Ebury where he led the business in Austria, Germany and Switzerland (DACH region). Prior to this, he held senior positions within the strategic consultancy and asset management industries, including BlackRock Solutions and McKinsey & Company in Europe and North America.
Nedbank Private Wealth
In a series of senior moves, Nedbank Private
Wealth has named Andrew Corlett OBE and Jeremy Wilson as
independent non-executive directors. Corlett has also been
appointed as chairman of the board for Nedgroup Trust, the
boutique private bank's trust business. John Harris has also
joined the Nedgroup Trust board.
Corlett is past president of the Isle of Man Law Society and served as chairman and managing director of the professional services group Cains from 1998 to 2018. His former non-executive directorships include chairman of Barclays Private Clients International, and firms within the HSBC and Swire Groups. Current non-executive directorships include the global fiduciary group Equiom and Gibbs Technologies. He was awarded an OBE in 2015 for services to the economy.
Wilson recently retired as vice chairman of corporate at Barclays Bank. In 47 years at Barclays, he worked across all major business units, in Australasia, Vanuatu, the US, Europe and the UK. Senior executive roles include chair of the bank's group credit committee, a director of Barclays Pension Fund Trustees, and chair of Barclays Bank Egypt. Other financial services roles included chairman of The Bankers Association for Finance and Trade, chairman of CHAPS (Clearing House Automated Payments System), and director of TheCityUK, where he chaired its audit committee. Wilson currently chairs the Whitechapel Think Tank, a public/private forum on distributed ledger technologies, and sits on advisory boards of technology firms in the DLT space.
