The latest moves in wealth management from across Europe and the Middle East.

Gresham House
Gresham House, the UK-listed alternative asset manager, has appointed Samee Khan as general counsel.

Khan joins from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, where he was responsible for establishing and then leading legal and compliance function in its private equities department. He has more than 21 years of legal, commercial and financial experience covering private and public equity, M&A and corporate finance.

Khan also spent 11 years at SVG Capital where he worked with Tony Dalwood, chief executive of Gresham House, and Graham Bird, Gresham House’s head of strategic equity.

He trained and qualified as a solicitor at Slaughter and May in London.

Alpima
Alpima, the specialist front-office platform for institutional and professional investors, has appointed Matt Johnson as managing director of sales.

Johnson joins from CoinShares, where he was head of sales. Previously, he worked in a number of senior industry roles, most recently at Invesco, Nomura, ETF securities and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Tilney
UK private investment manager Tilney has named Ben Seager-Scott to head its multi-asset funds. In the newly created post, Seager-Scott will oversee the fund research and portfolio management teams responsible for the group’s centrally managed investment strategies.

He joined Tilney in May 2011 as an emerging markets and Asia Pacific analyst. Prior to that he was a senior analyst at Bristol-based Whitechurch Securities.

As one of the UK’s largest asset managers, the firm manages £24.4 billion in assets, three-quarters of which are under either tailored or centrally managed discretionary directives.

“Tilney has one of the largest multi-asset fund books in the UK, supported by a sizeable team of 12 analysts and portfolio managers. I am delighted to announce that Ben will be responsible for this key function in his new role,” Chris Godding, chief investment officer, said.

IRESS
Financial technology business IRESS has appointed one of its senior figures in Australia, Phil Quin-Conroy, as managing director of the firm’s UK business. He replaces Simon Badley, who recently left the role.

Quinn-Conroy joined the firm two years ago, leading IRESS’ lending business in Australia.

Before he joined IRESS, Quin-Conroy held a number of senior financial services and technology leadership positions. Quin-Conroy was head of business consulting for wealth management business MLC in the UK and head of insurance and licensee services for National Australia Bank.
