The latest moves in wealth management from across Europe and the Middle East.
Gresham House
Gresham House,
the UK-listed alternative asset manager, has appointed Samee Khan
as general counsel.
Khan joins from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, where he was
responsible for establishing and then leading legal and
compliance function in its private equities department. He has
more than 21 years of legal, commercial and financial experience
covering private and public equity, M&A and corporate
finance.
Khan also spent 11 years at SVG Capital where he worked with Tony
Dalwood, chief executive of Gresham House, and Graham Bird,
Gresham House’s head of strategic equity.
He trained and qualified as a solicitor at Slaughter and May in
London.
Alpima
Alpima, the specialist
front-office platform for institutional and professional
investors, has appointed Matt Johnson as managing director of
sales.
Johnson joins from CoinShares, where he was head of sales.
Previously, he worked in a number of senior industry roles, most
recently at Invesco, Nomura, ETF securities and Bank of America
Merrill Lynch.
Tilney
UK private investment manager Tilney has named Ben
Seager-Scott to head its multi-asset funds. In the newly created
post, Seager-Scott will oversee the fund research and portfolio
management teams responsible for the group’s centrally managed
investment strategies.
He joined Tilney in May 2011 as an emerging markets and Asia Pacific analyst. Prior to that he was a senior analyst at Bristol-based Whitechurch Securities.
As one of the UK’s largest asset managers, the firm manages £24.4
billion in assets, three-quarters of which are under either
tailored or centrally managed discretionary directives.
“Tilney has one of the largest multi-asset fund books in the UK,
supported by a sizeable team of 12 analysts and portfolio
managers. I am delighted to announce that Ben will be responsible
for this key function in his new role,” Chris Godding, chief
investment officer, said.
IRESS
Financial technology business IRESS has appointed one of its
senior figures in Australia, Phil Quin-Conroy, as managing
director of the firm’s UK business. He replaces Simon Badley, who
recently left the role.
Quinn-Conroy joined the firm two years ago, leading IRESS’
lending business in Australia.
Before he joined IRESS, Quin-Conroy held a number of senior
financial services and technology leadership positions.
Quin-Conroy was head of business consulting for wealth management
business MLC in the UK and head of insurance and licensee
services for National Australia Bank.
