Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, Brown Shipley

The latest moves in asset and wealth management from across Europe and the UK.

Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management
Starting on 18 November, Marie Jacot-Cardoen has been appointed global head of distribution at Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, where she will sit on the executive committee and report to global CEO for asset management Christophe Caspar.

The asset management arm of Edmond de Rothschild said that part of her mission will be rolling out a commercial strategy for all geographies to help boost liquid and real asset investments as clients become increasingly global. It follows a move by the family-led private bank to create a single platform for listed and private assets. The firm manages around SFr173 billion (€160 billion) in assets.

Jacot-Cardoen will join following a long career at Goldman Sachs where she headed investment solution distribution for the firm’s asset management business in several European countries. At the US investment bank, she marketed a range of traditional and alternative investment solutions to institutional clients, banking networks, private banks, family offices and investment companies.

She joined the group’s asset management division in 2008 helping to develop the global liquidity management business across Europe and the Middle East. She was subsequently appointed head of distribution for France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

“Her dynamism and field experience will prove very valuable in increasing Edmond de Rothschild's presence with target clients for both listed investments and real assets,” Caspar said.

Brown Shipley
Quintet Private Bank’s UK operation Brown Shipley has hired two away from UBS Wealth Managerment, adding Matt Hoyne and Gerard Wilson in Edinburgh. Hoyne will lead the Edinburgh team and work alongside Wilson to further drive business growth in Scotland.

Hoyne moves from UBS in Edinburgh, where he has worked with HNW clients for the past seven years. He was previously a senior private banker at Lloyds owned Bank of Scotland and has spent time as a wealth advisor at US broker Merrill Lynch in Missouri.

Another coming from UBS, where he was a director in Edinburgh, Wilson also spent several years as a relationship manager at RBS Private Banking, followed by senior roles at Adam & Company.
