Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Artemis, TheCityUK, Others

The latest senior moves in wealth management and legal services in the UK and Europe.
Artemis
Artemis
Investment Management has appointed Adam Gent as its new head
of intermediated business. Gent will join Artemis at the
beginning of August from Allianz Global Investors where, since
March 2017, he has been managing director and head of Northern
European retail/wholesale distribution.
Before Allianz, Gent was at Legg Mason Global Asset Management
for 10 years, and from 2010 he was as a director and head of UK
Sales. That post followed roles at Henderson Global Investors as
Southern sales manager and, from 2000 when his career began,
Thesis Asset Management.
Gent will report to Artemis’ head of distribution, Jasper Berens.
TheCityUK
TheCityUK has named
former Labor MP Emma Reynolds as the new managing director of
public affairs, policy and research. Reynolds will start on 15
June and takes over from Ndidi Njoku, the financial services body
announced this week. She will also join the executive committee
and "play a key role in running the organisation alongside me and
other ExCo members,” CEO Miles Celic, said in a personal letter
announcing the appointment. He said Njoku has agreed to stay on
until the end of July to ensure a smooth handover.
The former Wolverhampton (NE) MP has held a number of shadow ministerial posts in recent years, including government and local communities secretary and minister for Europe, and she served on both the Commons Brexit and Health select committees. Reynolds lost her seat in December.
“She has great passion and enthusiasm for the role, a clear understanding of our policy agenda and the long-term competitiveness challenges and opportunities for the industry, alongside innovative thinking around key issues and activity,” Celic said. Her past experience in public affairs will be critical as the group continues to navigate the COVID-19 crisis and implement new policy strategy, it said.
TheCityUK was set up by industry figures in 2010 following two
separate reports. The first was from the Treasury, co-chaired by
the former Chancellor Alistair Darling and former Citigroup
chairman Sir Winfried Bischoff; the second was commissioned by
Boris Johnson as London Mayor and chaired by former Merrill Lynch
EMEA chairman Bob Wigley. The reports called for an independent
body to represent the financial services sector and build on
London’s reputation as a global financial hub. That remains its
remit today.
James Hambro & Partners`
James
Hambro & Partners has added portfolio manager Patrick Trueman
to its charities team.
Trueman, who was former head of charities at Aberdeen Standard
Capital and a fund manager at Newton Investment Management, will
work with JH&P’s charity head, Nicola Barber. He brings
specialist sector expertise to the JH&P team. He has served
as a trustee of a national charity and sat on the investment
committee of the country’s first dedicated children's charity.
