Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? Saffery Champness, Bedell Cristin

The latest moves in wealth management across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Saffery Champness

UK accountancy firm Saffery Champness has appointed Diane Petit-Laurent to join the Manchester office as a corporate partner.

Petit-Laurent will focus on entrepreneurial clients - based primarily in technology, manufacturing and retail - and will help deliver integrated advice throughout the business lifecycle.

She was previously a director at Deloitte in Manchester and brings a strong background of working with owner-managed and private equity-backed businesses, with a regional and international focus. She joins fellow partners Mike Hodges and Simon Kite in the Manchester office.

The firm’s managing partner Matthew Burton said the appointment comes at a time of “rapid growth in Manchester” and is a key addition as “we continue to enhance our client offering to the local market in the North West”.

Bedell Cristin

In a newly-created role, international law firm Bedell Cristin has appointed Catherine Cadman as head of knowledge to lead its knowledge strategy.

Cadman is a 20-year veteran of knowledge management, with leadership roles at onshore and offshore law firms, and will join the Jersey office to oversee the firm’s global presence across six jurisdictions.

The new position is a response to Bedell Cristin’s recent growth and emphasis on providing a consistent service across its offices. The firm completed a merger last month with Cayman law firm Solomon Harris to boost its expertise for its international clients, particularly those in the Middle East and Far East, already well served by the firm.

David Cadin, managing partner at Bedell Cristin, said: “Knowledge management is about harnessing our greatest asset – our employees’ expertise – for the benefit of our clients; adding Cadman’s arrival will be “instrumental” in growing the business".

Bedell Cristin offers legal advice, with an emphasis on cross-border international finance, from offices in Jersey, Guernsey, London, the BVI, Mauritius and Cayman.
