Wells Fargo WM names heads of investment business

Veterans lead 250 investment specialists who oversee $80 billion in assets. Wells Fargo's Wealth Management Group has named Erik Davidson as managing director of investments for its western U.S. region and Robert Storey as managing director of investments for its eastern U.S. region. Together they will manage a team of 250 investment specialists oversee about $80 billion in assets. Carmel, Calif.-based Davidson and Charlotte, N.C.-based Storey report to Dean Junkans, CIO of Wells Fargo Wealth Management Group.

Davidson joined Wells Fargo in 2004 from Franklin Templeton's Private Client Services group. Prior to his new appointment, he was senior director of Investments in Wells Fargo Wealth Management Group's northern Californian region; a position he will keep. Before he worked for San Mateo, Calif.-based Franklin Templeton, he worked for Zurich-based Credit Suisse, part of the time overseeing the trading of mortgage- and asset-backed securities in Asia.
Davidson co-wrote, with Kevin Freeman, the 2002 book Investing in Separate Accounts.
Storey had been with Wachovia for about 15 years prior to its acquisition by Wells Fargo at the end of 2008, most recently as head of its National Wealth Office and, before that, head of its alternative investments group.
