Wells Fargo Hires Merrill Lynch Veteran

Wells Fargo has hired Merrill Lynch veteran Thomas Isaacs to head up its seven private client branches in Manhatten, New York, Investment News reports.

Isaacs will be a managing director and New York City market manager, responsible for 246 brokers managing around $21 billion in client assets, according to the publication. In this role he replaces Richard Frick, and will report to Michael Carroll, regional president of Wells Fargo Advisors for the Northeast.

Isaacs was formerly head of Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management’s Jacksonville office in Florida; he resigned in March this year after 25 years at the firm. As reported by FamilyWealthReport at the time, he was believed to be in talks with Wells Fargo.

Meanwhile, a Merrill spokeswoman reportedly said that Isaacs has been replaced by Tony Kurlas, formerly manager of its branches in Georgia.
