Wealth advisory looks to CMC for manager research
CoreStates Capital cites investment researcher's Wall St.-like capabilities. Wealth advisory CoreStates Capital Advisors has selected Milwaukee-based Capital Market Consultants (CMC) to provide investment research and manager due-diligence for a customized, open-architecture investment platform.
"When we made the decision to break-away from the wirehouse confines to start our own firm we wanted to offer our clients objective, independent and unbiased advice," says CoreStates Capital president William Spiropoulos. "That required an experienced and skilled managed-money consulting and investment research resource like the one we were leaving behind at the wirehouse."

CMC managing partner Barry Mendelson says that platform customization is an important element in his firm's offering to registered investment advisors and other fee-based intermediaries. "CoreStates needed a research partner that could and would help them turn their investment platform vision into reality," he says. "Over the past few months we have worked with [Spiropoulos] and his associates to build a platform that reflects their unique vision and will enable them to deliver sophisticated, unbiased and highly customized investment services."
About two months ago CoreStates Capital chose Charlotte, N.C.-based Adhesion Technology's WealthADV platform for help crafting customized unified managed accounts (UMAs) for its clients. UMAs provide different, and in theory complementary, security styles and asset classes in a single investment account.
Newtown, Pa.-based CoreStates Capital managed about $210 million at the time of its latest filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. -FWR
