Waverton Hires Business Development Manager From Charles Stanley

The investment manager has boosted its business development team with the hire of William Tong.

London-based Waverton Investment Management has appointed Charles Stanley's William Tong as business development manager for its managed funds service team.

At Charles Stanley, Tong was responsible for intermediary sales across London. He previously worked at Towry Law, within both its private client and change teams.

In his new role, Tong will work alongside Waverton's marketing director, Mark Barrington, helping to enhance the firm's relationships with financial advisors across the UK.

“We are delighted that William has joined Waverton. He has significant experience of working alongside financial advisors and supporting them in the delivery of investment solutions to their clients,” said Waverton's head of managed funds service, John Bellamy.

The appointment follows last month's hire of Andrew Fleming, the ex-head of Kames Capital, as Waverton's new chief executive.
