Washington Trust Shutters A Connecticut Branch

The Washington Trust Company, part of Washington Trust Bancorp, is to close one of its branches in Connecticut in September.

The branch in Olde Mistick Village in Mystic will shut and employees “will assume other banking positions within the bank,” the parent firm announced yesterday. No specific reasons were given for the closure.

Rhode Island-headquartered Washington Trust offers a range of personal and business banking services, including wealth management and trust services, through offices in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
