Washington Trust's new phase of Unapen integration

Firm takes ClientLogix beyond sales and CRM to investment-platform support. About a year and a half ago, Westerly, R.I.-based Washington Trust selected Unapen's ClientLogix to integrate sales and client-service technologies across its wealth-management division, and last spring the system went live at company's Weston Financial Group, Washington Trust Investors and 1800 Asset Management businesses.
Now Washington Trust is set to begin a new phase of integration with Unapen's ClientLogix providing trading support for the Smartleaf's portfolio-rebalancing system and integration with Concord Wealth Management's third-party investment platform.

"We turned to Unapen's ClientLogix platform and their professional services team to provide this critical solution," Washington Trust's wealth-management head Galan Daukas says of Unapen's phase-one implementation. "They took a great platform and, with minimal customization, crafted the exact solution for our business requirements."
Adds Daukas: "The first phase was a complete success, paving the way for this next phase."
But Unapen's president and CEO Joe Walker is quick to share credit for the step-up in his firm's involvement with Washington Trust.
"Washington Trust recognized the growing need in bank-based wealth management for much more than a traditional CRM can deliver," says Walker. "Unapen is thrilled to be at the center of this next-generation platform at Washington Trust that will set the benchmark for profitable and successful wealth-management businesses of all types."
Washington Trust Wealth Management has about $4 billion in assets under administration. In addition to Westerly, it has offices in Providence and Narragansett, R.I., and in Wellesley, Mass.
Wallingford, Conn.-based Unapen helps wealth managers, family offices, banks, trust companies and institutional asset managers streamline operations and workflow across organizations with a view to helping them grow assets and minimize overhead. -FWR
