VP Bank Singapore Names New Chief Risk Officer

The CRO comes to the role with a variety of senior compliance roles at private banks and wealth management houses in Singapore.

VP Bank Ltd Singapore Branch, part of Liechtenstein-headquartered VP Bank, has appointed Vincent Koo as chief risk officer, effective 24 August 2026. He will be responsible for the branch's risk, control and operational functions.

Koo has more than three decades of experience in audit, compliance and risk management, spanning compliance, legal, operational and business risk. The bank's announcement did not specify his previous employers or roles. The role is not a newly created position; a spokesperson for VP Bank did not say who was in the post previously.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Koo was previously regional head of compliance, Bank J Safra Sarasin, based in Singapore, for more than four years. Before that, he was head of compliance at EFG Private Bank, also in Singapore. Other senior compliance roles in his professional background include BNP Paribas Wealth Management, Schroders and Coutts.

Thomas Rupf is head of the Singapore branch and chief investment officer for Asia at VP Bank.
