US Wealth Manager Expands in North Carolina

US wealth manager Stanford Group is to open its 17th US Private Client Group office in Greensboro, North Carolina. Eight senior executives from US Trust Company have joined to serve the local office. The company opened an office in Charlotte, North Carolina last September and plans to continue its measured growth throughout 2007 and 2008, according to a statement. The Stanford Greensboro team consists of managing directors John Rich and Glenda Burkett and senior vice presidents M. Jo Brooks, Ken Dimock, Anthony Monforton, Virginia Saslow and William Watson. Also joining the team are Suzanne Wilcox, Sandy Boes, Kim Lemons and Kim van Zee. In addition to Greensboro and Charlotte, the company has offices in Boca Raton, Miami and Longboat Key, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Memphis, Nashville, Denver, Atlanta, Little Rock, Baton Rouge and Lafayette, LA and Jackson and Tupelo. According to Stanford, the company selected Greensboro as its newest location because of the concentration of high-net-worth individuals and small and mid-size companies in the region and the fact that so many of the local and regional firms that typically offer the high-touch service these clients expect have gone away. "North Carolina is an important market for Stanford, and we are glad to have the opportunity to expand our presence here. We have been well received in Charlotte, and I have no doubt that with the professional team we have in place, the same will be true for Greensboro. I believe that as people come to experience the Stanford standard, they will see that we truly do offer an alternative to the mega-sized banks and brokerage firms," said Eddie Rollins, executive director of the Carolinas.
