AM&A Financial Services, a Rochester, New York State-based wealth manager, has been acquired by Tompkins Trustco for an undisclosed sum. The transaction is expected to close in early 2006. AM&M is a fee-based, financial-planning firm that has around $350 million in assets under management. Tompkins Trustco, also based in New York State, employs 578 full-time staff. The company’s three banks — Tompkins Trust, Bank of Castile, and Mahopac National Bank — have 35 branches in total. The bank also provides investment services through Tompkins Investment and Tompkins Insurance. Tompkins Trustco has assets of more than $2 billion.
