US Investment Advisor Buys Rival's Assets

US firm Kingfisher Capital has purchased the assets of the Charlotte, North Carolina office of WealthTrust Advisors. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Kingfisher Capital, which is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, is an independent investment advisor serving individuals, families and institutions. Kingfisher Capital’s managing partners, Mr Hallett and Alex Miles, who were previously managing directors at WealthTrust Advisors, founded Kingfisher Capital in 2009.

Kingfisher Capital has retained key employees of WealthTrust's Charlotte office in the transaction, including senior research analyst, Brian Smyth; director of business development, William Grasty; operations manager and head trader, Virginia Starnes, and client services manager, Carol Layton, the firm said in a statement.

WealthTrust Advisors now operates from its remaining office in Paducah, Kentucky.
