Geneva-based independent wealth manager Unigestion has appointed Jean-François Hirschel to the newly-created post of head of global marketing, reporting to chairman Bernard Sabrier. He joins from SG Asset Management where he was head of marketing and product development. Mr Sabrier said: “Establishing this role further demonstrates our dedication to innovation, performance and client understanding”. Mr Hirschel said: “Unigestion is proud of the uniqueness of its investment processes and reporting capabilities, all of which clearly differentiate the firm from its competitors. My challenge is to foster Unigestion’s growth in line with its values”. Unigestion is dedicated exclusively to the active management of assets for institutions (90 per cent of assets) and family offices (10 per cent) and is focused on five areas of activity: quantitative equity management, funds of hedge funds, private equity funds of funds, multimanagement and fixed income. It currently has €7.5 billion ($9.7 billion) under management. The firm will open an office in Singapore in spring 2007.
