UK-Based Law Firm Expands Into Singapore

The new office will provide English divorce and family law advice to British expats and families with links to England who are living in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
English law firm Expatriate Law has
formed a Singapore branch office called Expatriate Law (Asia)
Pte. Ltd The office is a foreign law practice approved by the
Ministry of Law in Singapore and is regulated by the Solicitors’
Regulation Authority in England.
The new office will provide English divorce and family law advice
to British expats and families with links to England who are
living in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Based at Singapore's Land Tower in Raffles Place, the office will
be developed by Sonny Patel who is a partner of the firm. Patel,
an English solicitor with 13 years of post-qualification
experience in English family law, was trained and practised
exclusively in a central London law firm prior to joining
Expatriate Law in 2014 where he led their Dubai office.
“The effective conduct of a cross-border divorce requires
technical knowledge combined with practical experience of a
number of niche areas of law. By establishing a presence in
Singapore and working closely with local lawyers across the
region, our firm will be ideally placed to meet the needs of
British expats at what can be a highly charged and stressful
period of their lives,” Patel said.
