UK Wealth Firm HFM Columbus Makes Three Senior Appointments

UK wealth management and advisory firm HFM Columbus said it has made three senior appointments to increase its service to high net worth clients.
James Scott, who previously worked at Ward Consultancy and Coutts, and Ross Ibbotson – who has just completed eight years with the Ward Consultancy, have joined the firm. They will be working with joint managing director Charlie Walker to enhance HFM Columbus’ existing extensive City network and to develop new client relationships.
HFM Columbus, which is a joint venture between Surrey firm Hoyland Financial Management and Tunbridge Wells based company Columbus Financial Advisers, targets the high net worth end of the market, and offers in-depth solutions ranging from mortgages and investments to employee benefits, retirement and inheritance tax.
HFM Columbus said it has also appointed a financial services luminary, Tony Gordon, as non–executive director. Mr Gordon achieved the accolade of becoming the first non-North American to serve as president of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table and has worked in financial services for 39 years.
The Million Dollar Round Table is an international, independent association of more than 35,000 members, or less than 1 per cent, of the world's most successful life insurance and financial services professionals from 476 companies in 76 nations and territories.
"We are especially interested in growing organically by acquiring smaller IFA firms that seek the benefit of becoming part of a secure and successful forward-looking concern," said Jeremy Hoyland, managing director, in an apparently contradictory comment about HFM's strategy.
