Private client stockbroker Christows is opening a new office in Birmingham and has recruited a six-strong team from Brewin Dolphin, one of the UK’s biggest private client brokers. Martin Lord, Adrian Quin, Mark Northover, Ian Moseley, Nick Jones and Simon Long have agreed to join Christows from Brewin. "They (the new team) will provide the dedicated portfolio management skill base necessary to manage high net worth clients, pension funds, charities and tax efficient investment portfolios," Christows said in a statement. Christows is owned by stockbrokers Evolution, which has been earlier linked to a possible takeover of Brewin and appears to be pursuing an aggressive growth strategy. “The individuals joining Christows from Brewin Dolphin are highly regarded and they will help us build our funds under management, in order to help us achieve our objective of £1 billion ($1.8 billion),” said Robin O'Grady, Christows' director of sales and marketing, in a local newspaper interview. At present Christows' clients have portfolios valued at some £670 million.
