UK Private Client Investment Firm Hopes To Hit Pleasing Note, Hires Client Director

The private client investment house has added someone with musical as well as financial talent to its team.
Connection Capital, the UK private client investment firm, has appointed Lorraine Homewood as client director.
Homewood has a background in client management and asset-raising from the media and finance industries. Since joining the hedge fund industry in the late 1990s at Park Place Capital, she has successfully launched funds for ACPI Partners, INVESCO Global, Dawnay Day International and PCE Investors, as well as a hedge fund platform. Homewood has raised more than $1 billion across more than 20 individual fund launches and many direct investments, Connection Capital said.
Connection Capital says it enables people to build a “broad portfolio of direct private equity, alternative asset fund and property investments” and provides investors with a fully managed service whereby clients have the ability to invest on a deal-by-deal basis as part of an organised syndicate.
The firm has more than 750 clients with a net worth of some £7 billion ($10.4 billion) and around £170 million of funds under management.
Homewood hasn’t always been in the financial world. She originally trained as a pianist at the Royal Northern College of Music before moving into sales and marketing in artist management. She then joined the development team at The Royal Opera House before becoming business manager of marketing at Trinity Mirror Group.
