UK Leading Hedge Fund Manager Relocates To Switzerland

London-listed hedge fund management holding company BH Macro has revealed that co-founder Alan Howard has relocated to the firm’s Geneva office, highlighting concerns that rising UK taxes and regulations are encouraging UK investors and bankers to leave.

BH Macro said in a statement that “Alan Howard has become based full-time in Geneva, working for the Geneva branch of Brevan Howard Investment Products Limited. Mr Howard continues in his role as the principal risk taker in the Brevan Howard Master Fund and his capital allocation and risk limits, as well as his wider responsibilities in relation to BHMF, remain unchanged.”

WealthBriefing reported in February that the firm was opening an office in Geneva offering staff an opportunity to move out of London as worries grew over UK tax and regulation.

However, as reported by this publication, transferring to Switzerland can be difficult, given the relative lack of housing and school places. To view the article, click here.
