UK Law Firm Creates Luxury Asset Litigation Group; Recruits Industry Luminary

The law firm has taken aim at the world of luxury assets such as yachts and classic cars with a new litigation practice.

The world of litigation has taken a decidedly luxurious turn as UK law firm Shoosmiths announces it is launching a group focused on managing and protecting corporate and personal high-value assets.

The firm has appointed Elliot Bishop, formerly of Hill Dickinson, where he spent the past 10 years working in its yacht team, acting on behalf of insurers and banks over coverage issues and enforcement of marine loan security; he also represented ultra-high net worth clients in commercial disputes involving luxury assets. He has worked in the legal sector for more than 18 years.

Bishop - who will be based in Shoosmiths' London office at Tower42 – will head up the new group, which will provide specialist legal advice on a wide range of luxury assets including yachts, original artwork and classic cars, the firm said in a statement yesterday.

The service has been set up in response to increasing client demand for support with the management and protection of personal and corporate high value assets, it said.
