UK Investment Manager Hires From Brompton To Fill Newly-Created Role

The UK-based investment management house has bolstered its management team.

Waverton Investment Management has appointed Luke Hyde-Smith as portfolio manager and head of third-party fund selection, a newly-created role.

He joined the firm from Brompton Asset Management, where he built and developed the collective investment selection process. In particular, he was responsible for managing a range of multi-asset strategies.

Prior to joining Brompton Asset Management in 2009, he was a fund analyst at New Star. Earlier in his career, he also worked at SG Private Bank.

In total, Hyde-Smith has more than 13 years' experience in fund management.

“He brings a great deal of experience and has extensive knowledge in sourcing new investment opportunities, formulating asset class views and carrying out research and manager due diligence,” said John Bellamy, director and head of managed portfolio service.
