UK Investment House Makes Senior Hire, Plans New Business Division

UK-listed Liontrust Asset Management said today that Ross Hollyman will join the firm in January next year from GAM, the UK-based alternatives investment firm.
Mr Hollyman is an investment director at GAM, where he is responsible for UK and European equity long only and long/short portfolios and heads a team of four specialists. Prior to joining GAM, he was a senior portfolio manager with JP Morgan Fleming, where he managed UK and European portfolios and worked with Gary West and James Inglis-Jones.
At Liontrust, Mr Hollyman will develop Global Value, Global Earnings Surprise and Global Multi-Factor equity investment processes, the firm said in a statement.
Liontrust said it plans to launch a number of collective investment vehicles that will apply these new investment processes on a global and regional basis, including alternative investment funds, authorised unit trusts and offshore funds. Liontrust will also offer the Global Equity Investment Processes to the institutional market via segregated accounts, pooled institutional funds and managed accounts, it said.
The firm said it also proposes to create a new group entity, Liontrust Global Investment Services, for Mr Hollyman and the team he will head at Liontrust.
Although the arrangements relating to LGIS have been agreed in principle, they remain subject to contract. Whether or not they are implemented will be subject to a number of factors, including any necessary regulatory and/or legal approvals as well as approval by Liontrust's shareholders. A further announcement will be made in due course, Liontrust said.
