UK Insurer Poaches ABN Amro Portfolio Managers for New UHNW Unit

UK-based insurer Standard Life has tapped ABN Amro’s London-based private client business for a team of four discretionary portfolio managers for its forthcoming ultra high net worth business. David Sullivan, Darren Ripton, Eric Louw and Isobel Pilkington will report to Richard Charnock, the former Williams de Broe chief executive, who joined Standard Life Investments at the end of February to head up the new London-based unit. The new UHNW business is planned for launch early next year and will target growth among those with at least £2 million ($4 million) to invest. It is not yet known whether the company will use the Standard Life name in its branding, but it is thought that the service will be available to both UK and international clients.
