UK independent financial advisors want to visit clients more often, but believe they are not able to because they are tied up in excessive paperwork and red tape, according to new research. A survey conducted by an IFA business development firm, Broker Exchange, which questioned 100 IFAs, found not visiting a sufficient number of clients each week top of the problems list. Broker Exchange said that red tape and excessive paperwork will not subside in the coming years and encourages IFAs to concentrate on those areas that might deliver more clients. The research said IFAs should make more use of evolving technology as a possible time saving yet effective tool for maximizing business revenue. Broker Exchange believes two vital issues are prominent when it comes to self-promotion for IFAs, namely the establishment of visibility and credibility through seminars and workshops, along with the building of an online presence and not solely through a company website, but through professional online business forums as well. The IFA development firm says advisors can potentially save a great deal of communication time with prospective and existing clients by launching their own online forums, which enables them to take part in web logs (“blogs”), while promoting their expertise first-hand.
