Ninety-six per cent of UK high net worth individuals hold a pension plan, while three quarters seek financial advice, from which half seek independent financial advice, according to a new study for Winterthur Life by MDRC. The study also revealed that 85 per cent of HNWs are most concerned about securing a comfortable retirement, while 82 per cent also said they ranked maintaining their standard of living as an important financial goal. "HNWIs are clearly more financially sophisticated than they once were - their understanding of A-Day and their appetite for sourcing financial advice via the media underlines this," said David Thompson, director of distribution at Winterthur Life.
